Day 01: Arrival in Rovaniemi & Northern Lights Hunt
Welcome to Finnish Lapland! At the airport, you’ll be met by your driver and taken directly to your accommodation.
You then have time to explore Rovaniemi. It’s a small but charming city close to the Arctic Circle. Stroll through the city centre while breathing in the autumnal atmosphere.
This evening, it’s time to head out on a northern lights hunt. An expert guide will drive you into the countryside, away from city lights, where conditions are best to spot the colourful aurora borealis.
Spend the night in Rovaniemi.
Start the day by getting into the festive spirit with a visit to the magical Santa Claus Village. You'll have time to shop for souvenirs, send postcards from Santa's main office, and, of course, meet Santa Claus himself! Enjoy lunch at the village, surrounded by autumnal charm.
Afterward, transfer to the unique Arctic SnowHotel resort, where you may even get a sneak peek at the sparkling ice construction if visiting early in the season. You'll enjoy a 3-course dinner of local specialties at the rustic Kota restaurant. The evening culminates with a traditional Finnish sauna session before spending the night under the stars in your very own glass igloo.


Day 03: A day to explore Rovaniemi
After a hearty breakfast at the Arctic SnowHotel resort, you will be transferred back to Rovaniemi, where you have the entire day to explore at your leisure. To delve into local heritage, visit the Arktikum museum to explore exhibits on Arctic nature, history, and the Sámi nation's culture.
To maximize your time and take advantage of the autumn season, you can add more optional activities. Wildlife lovers may enjoy a tour of Ranua Wildlife Park, or you could try fishing in a scenic lake out in the peaceful wilderness. Spend the night in Rovaniemi.
Day 04: Journey to Helsinki
Following your adventurous days in Lapland, a driver will transfer you to Rovaniemi Airport for your flight to Helsinki, the capital of Finland. Upon arrival, you'll transfer to the city center via public transport, taxi, or pre-arranged private service, before checking into your accommodation.
After settling in, head out to explore Helsinki's beautiful architecture. You can marvel at the historic Senate Square, visit the magnificent Uspenski Cathedral, or browse the 19th-century Old Market Hall, which is the oldest of its kind and sits right on the waterside. Spend the night in Helsinki.


Day 05: Explore Helsinki & Sail to Sweden
Spend the early part of the day exploring Helsinki, the UNESCO City of Design. Marvel at the visually striking designs of landmarks such as the Sibelius Monument, Finlandia Hall, and the Finnish Parliament Building, or visit the Helsinki Opera House to appreciate modern Finnish architecture.
In the afternoon, you will board the overnight cruise to Stockholm, the capital of Sweden. Settle into your comfortable cabin with a sea view and enjoy the ship's amenities, which include a variety of restaurants, cafés, tax-free shops, and evening entertainment.
Day 06: Sail to Splendid Stockholm
Enjoy breakfast with a view as you sail through the golden, autumnal Stockholm archipelago. Once you’ve checked into your hotel, you can head out to explore Stockholm on foot.
Stroll down to Drottninggatan to do some shopping. This street is home to many chain shops, as well as independent boutiques. It’s the perfect place to find a souvenir from your Scandinavian adventure. Or you could head to Östermalm. Here you’ll find beautiful architecture, fascinating museums and tempting eateries. Take your pick of the city’s plentiful restaurants for dinner, before making your way back to your hotel.


Day 07: The Charms of Swedish Culture
Today, you’ll enjoy plenty of time exploring the heart of Stockholm. This walkable city is perfect for discovering on foot. Start by exploring the Old Town (Gamla Stan), where you will find the Royal Palace, the nation’s parliament, ancient churches and beautiful cobblestone streets. After some time in Gamla Stan, take a short ferry ride to the nearby island Djurgården. This is a cultural oasis offering something for everyone.
Here you will find the ABBA Museum, celebrating Sweden’s most famous band. There’s also the Nordic Museum, the Vasa Museum, and the Skansen open-air museum.
Spend another night in Stockholm.
Day 08: Travel from Stockholm to Lovely Copenhagen
After breakfast, you’ll say goodbye to Stockholm and head to Copenhagen, Denmark’s capital city. Make your way to Stockholm Central Station to catch your train.
The journey to Denmark takes you through the spellbinding Swedish countryside and over the iconic Øresund Bridge. Soak in the magical scenery as you travel. After settling into your hotel, you could take a walk along the enchanting old harbour area Nyhavn. This famous district is lined with colourful houses and lively restaurants beside rows of docked boats. From here, you can easily explore the highlights of this iconic city. Walk the narrow side streets, visit some charming shops, and try a delicious, traditional open-faced sandwich, smørrebrød.
Spend the night in Copenhagen.


Day 09: A Day in Captivating Copenhagen
You have the whole day to explore the enchanting streets of Copenhagen. The best way to explore is on foot, so head back to the cobblestoned streets of the city center. There are many regal landmarks, including Amalienborg Palace and Christiansborg Palace. Be sure to walk to the famous Little Mermaid statue by the waterfront.
Take a stroll along Strøget street and grab something delicious to eat at Torvehallerne food hall. In the evening, enjoy a nightcap in one of the city’s many bars before returning to your hotel.
Spend another night in Copenhagen.
Day 10: Set Sail for Norway
Spend the morning seeing some more of historic Copenhagen. If you haven’t already, you might want to check out the observatory of The Round Tower. There’s also the most famous church in Copenhagen, Church of Our Saviour, the impeccable King’s Garden, and the grand Rosenborg Castle.
Later, it’s time to board your DFDS cruise to Oslo. The ship will sail you up the jaw-dropping Kattegat Sund on its way to Norway’s capital city. This evening, you could check out the on-board entertainment or simply relax and admire the magical night sky from the deck. Spend the night on the DFDS cruise.


Day 11: Explore Enchanting Olso
Enjoy breakfast on board as the ship docks in vibrant Oslo. You have the day to explore Norway’s bustling capital. Stroll along Karl Johans gate street. As Oslo’s main thoroughfare, it’s one street you won’t want to miss. Expect to see street musicians, cobblestoned paths and even some reflecting ponds.
Then make your way along the bustling Aker Brygge marina and past the Oslo Opera House. This area is packed with lively shops and beautiful views. Aker Brygge is also a great place for tonight’s dinner. There are countless eateries to choose from here.

Day 12: Norway In a Nutshell in Autumn – The Flåm Railway
Get an early start and head to Oslo Central Station, where you’ll begin the unforgettable Norway in a Nutshell journey towards Bergen, with an overnight stop in Flåm. This train ride takes you over Norway’s leafy “mountainous rooftops” and through the charming villages of Gol and Geilo.
In Myrdal, you’ll switch trains to the famous Flåm Railway (Flåmsbana) for an incredible ride to the beautiful village of Flåm. Finally, enjoy a relaxing afternoon in Flåm. The village is a nature lover’s paradise all year round,and in autumn the surroundings are transformed by hues of orange and gold. You could follow one of the nearby hiking trails, or join an optional activity.
Spend the night in Flåm.


Day 13: Norway in a Nutshell to Bergen
This morning, you’ll board a boat to sail through Aurlandsfjord into the World Heritage-listed Nærøyfjord, the narrowest fjord in all of Europe. This is perhaps the most beautiful arm of Sognefjord, with its mighty waterfalls and small farms clinging to the vibrant mountainsides.
The boat docks in Gudvangen, from where you’ll be transported by bus to Voss to board the train for the last stretch of the journey to Bergen.
Spend the night in Bergen.
Day 14: Departure from Bergen
It’s time to say goodbye to Norway and Scandinavia! If your flight is in the afternoon, you could spend your final morning at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Bryggen. This colourful harbour district is lined with medieval and wooden walkways.
Another option is to visit a museum. Check out Troldhaugen, a museum about the composer Edvard Grieg, or KODE, Scandinavia’s largest museum of art and design. Or you could take a ride on the Fløibanen Funicular to the snow-dusted peak of Mount Fløyen.
When it’s time to head to the airport, take the public transport from Bergen city centre or call a taxi. Alternatively, we would be happy to arrange a private airport transfer for you.
