Day 01: Arrival in Etosha
Your Namibian adventure begins with a flight from Windhoek International Airport to the Etosha Airstrip, where you will be met and transferred to your lodge. The main focus in Etosha is safari, and you will be perfectly positioned to begin your wildlife-watching experience, especially at the bustling waterholes.
Day 02: Etosha's Wildlife
Spend your day on game drives and at the waterholes. In this arid environment, waterholes are a magnet for wildlife, providing a great opportunity to spot rhinos, elephants, giraffes, and even lions. Your nights will be spent at the lodge, where spotlights often illuminate the waterholes, allowing for spectacular nighttime viewing.
Day 03: Flight to Damaraland
Today you will take a flight from Etosha to Damaraland, a vast and rugged landscape of rocky outcrops and desert. Upon arrival, you will check into your lodge, ready to explore this unique wilderness.
Day 04: Desert-Adapted Wildlife & Ancient Art
This day is dedicated to discovering the secrets of the desert. Go on a game drive to track rare desert-adapted elephants and black rhinos. You can also take a walking safari to find smaller details of the landscape or visit ancient San paintings and rock art sites, like those at Twyfelfontein.
Day 05: Journey to the Skeleton Coast
A scenic flight will take you from Damaraland to the mysterious Skeleton Coast, a place of mist, shipwrecks, and towering dunes. Upon arrival, you'll be transferred to your lodge for the next three nights.
Day 06: Exploring the Dunes
Your guides will lead you on a 4x4 desert drive to search for the elusive brown hyena and other desert-adapted wildlife. The landscapes are the star of the show, and you will have the chance to explore on foot, discovering magical desert oases and soaring dunes.
Day 07: Scenic Flight
This is a truly unique day, with an opportunity for a small, fixed-wing flight (weather permitting). From the air, you will see the full scale of the landscape, including the stark coastline, cracked riverbeds, and mysterious shipwrecks.
Day 08: Coastal Town Adventure
You will fly from the Skeleton Coast to Walvis Bay and then transfer to the charming coastal town of Swakopmund. Known as Namibia’s "adventure capital," you can settle in and enjoy the unique German architecture and seaside atmosphere.
Day 09: Adrenaline or Relaxation
Your day in Swakopmund is yours to choose. For the thrill-seekers, options include quad biking across the dunes or sandboarding. If you prefer a more relaxed pace, you can take a walking tour of the town or a catamaran cruise to spot dolphins and seals.
Day 10: Flight to NamibRand
Your final flight of the trip takes you to the serene NamibRand Nature Reserve, a quieter alternative to the more crowded Sossusvlei dunes. You will check into your remote lodge surrounded by terracotta dunes and vast grasslands.
Day 11: Dunes & Desert Life
Explore the stunning landscape of NamibRand on game drives or horseback rides, spotting zebra and oryx. You can also go on a walking safari to look for the tiny desert creatures and the mysterious "fairy circles" that dot the plains.
Day 12: Stargazing & Aerial Views
NamibRand is a photographer's dream and a designated International Dark Sky Reserve. You can enjoy breathtaking stargazing, with the option to sleep out under the open sky. For a truly unforgettable experience, consider a hot air balloon flight over the dunes at sunrise.
Day 13: Departure
Your journey concludes with a flight from the Namibrand Airstrip back to Windhoek International Airport.
