Uyuni: The world's largest salt flat

Day 01 : Uyuni - Coquesa - Thunupa Volcano - Uyuni Salt Flats

Transfer from Uyuni airport and the start of a full day excursion to the salt lake. Uyuni is the world's largest salt flat, on Bolivia's Andean plateau, and covers an area of 12000 square kilometres. The deep silence makes your heart beat faster and plunges you into a surreal landscape where the sky is reflected by the land, playing with your sense of perspective and imagination. Lunch is included. Afternoon excursion to the small village of Coquesa at the foot of the Thunupa volcano. Stroll through the village and walk to the cave of the Coquesa mummies. Dinner and overnight stay at Salt Hotel on the edge of Uyuni salt lake.

Day 02 : Visit Incawasi

After breakfast a visit to Inkawasi, an oasis surrounded by islands with formations of algae and fossils. It is covered by thousands of giant cacti, some more than a hundred years old, growing more than 12 metres high. The landscape of Uyuni merges into the horizon, making this an ideal place for serious photographers. Lunch is included. Enjoy a cocktail at sunset when the colours of the sky are reflected in the white desert. Dinner and overnight stay in Deluxe Airstream Camper.

Day 03: Red Lagoon Geyser Sol De Mañana

Red Lagoon
 
Travel from Jirira to the stunning Red Lagoon. Covering 60 square kilometers, its reddish waters are home to flocks of pink flamingos, vicuñas, llamas, and vizcachas. Watch the birds' graceful movements, which feel like an improvised ballet.
 
Sol de Mañana Geysers
 
Visit the incredible Sol de Mañana geysers, where boiling lava and steam fumaroles create a spectacular, otherworldly landscape at 4900 meters above sea level. This geothermal region feels like a throwback to the beginnings of time.
 
Green Lagoon
 
The day ends at Green Lagoon, a gigantic emerald-colored lake. From its shore, you can see the majestic beauty of the Licancabur volcano, and at sunset, the lake's dazzling color is caused by its high magnesium content. The tour ends at Hito Cajón, on the Chile-Bolivia border.
