Day 01: Arrival in Madikwe Game Reserve

Your journey begins with a flight from Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport to Madikwe Airstrip. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to Thakadu River Camp, your home for the next three nights. After checking in, you'll be able to quickly get into the safari experience with your first game drive.

Day 02: Exploring Madikwe

Rise early for a sunrise game drive, a prime time for spotting predators on the hunt. After a hearty breakfast back at the camp, you can choose to relax, take a dip in the pool, or join a guided walking safari to learn about the smaller details of the bush. Your day concludes with another afternoon game drive, a "sundowner" drink in the wilderness, and a lovely dinner.

Day 03: Wildlife in Madikwe

Today is another full day of safari activities. You can enjoy both a morning and an afternoon game drive, exploring different areas of the vast 75,000-hectare reserve. Your expert guide will help you track the "Super Seven"—including cheetah, lion, and the rare African painted dog. In the evening, you might opt for a thrilling night drive to spot nocturnal animals like the brown hyena.

Day 04: Travel to Waterberg

After one final early morning game drive and a final breakfast at Thakadu River Camp, you'll check out and begin your self-drive transfer to the beautiful Waterberg region. This scenic drive will take you to Ekuthuleni Lodge, where you will check in for the next three nights. The afternoon is yours to relax and enjoy the lodge's peaceful setting.

Day 05: Waterberg Wilderness

The Waterberg offers a different pace of safari. Today, you can take a slow-paced game drive to search for a variety of plains game and the Big Five. Later in the day, you might enjoy a peaceful boat trip on the river, or even a horseback safari to experience the landscape from a unique perspective.

Day 06: Waterberg Landscapes

Your day can start with a bush walk with your guide, revealing the intricate details of the Waterberg ecosystem. You'll spend the day exploring the rugged scenery and diverse habitats. In the evening, enjoy a sundowner as you watch the sun set over the picturesque mountains, followed by a relaxed dinner.

Day 07: Journey to Mauritius

After a morning activity and breakfast, you'll be transferred to Waterberg Airstrip for a flight back to Johannesburg. From there, you will connect to your international flight to Mauritius International Airport. Upon arrival, you'll be met and transferred to the beautiful Sunrise Attitude resort, your tropical home for the next six nights.

Day 08-12: Tropical Paradise in Mauritius

The next five days are yours to enjoy the sun, sand, and sea. You have a huge variety of aquatic activities to choose from, including snorkeling, diving, kayaking, and paddleboarding. For a truly special experience, go on a boat trip to spot whales and dolphins. You can also spend your days relaxing on the beautiful beaches, exploring the lush inland forests, or cycling through the sugarcane fields.

Day 13: Departure from Mauritius

Enjoy a final breakfast and a last morning on the beach. After checking out of the hotel, you will be collected and transferred to Mauritius International Airport for your flight home, filled with incredible memories from both your safari and island adventures.
