Tanzania Safari Itinerary
9 Nights/10 Days
Day 01: Arrival in Arusha
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, your guide will meet you and transfer you to your lodge in Arusha. This laid-back town is the gateway to Tanzania's safari gems, offering stunning views of Mount Meru. You can spend the day relaxing or exploring the town, visiting Maasai markets for unique crafts or taking a tour of a coffee farm.
Day 02: Flight to Lake Manyara
You will be transferred to Arusha Airport for a short flight to Lake Manyara Airport, where you'll be met and taken to your lodge. You will spend the next three nights exploring this park, famous for its tree-climbing lions and clouds of pink flamingos.
Day 03: Exploring Lake Manyara
Today is dedicated to game drives in Lake Manyara, known for its lush forests and thriving wildlife. You'll encounter large herds of elephants, baboons, and a variety of other antelope. You can also opt for a walking safari or a treetop walkway adventure to see the forest from a new perspective.
Day 04: Lake Manyara Activities
Enjoy another day of game drives. Your guide can take you to the Maji Moto springs, where you can take a dip and enjoy a picnic lunch in the middle of the wilderness.
Day 05: Journey to the Ngorongoro Crater
After a final morning activity, you will be driven to your next lodge at the Ngorongoro Crater. This is an incredible destination, a massive caldera filled with a high density of iconic African wildlife.
Day 06: Descent into the Crater
Today, you'll rise early to descend to the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater for an unforgettable game drive. This is one of the best places in Tanzania to spot the endangered black rhino, along with all of the other Big Five.
Day 07: Safari in the Serengeti
Today you will be transferred to your lodge in the Serengeti, a journey that is a game drive in itself. Your guide will take you on an exhilarating drive through the park as you head to your next destination.
Day 08: The Great Migration
The Serengeti is most famous for the Great Migration. Depending on the time of year, you may be able to witness millions of wildebeest and zebras on their epic journey across the plains.
Day 09: Optional Activities
Beyond game drives, the Serengeti offers a variety of activities. You can take a hot air balloon safari at sunrise for a bird's-eye view of the plains or enjoy a walking safari with a trained guide to experience the bush up close.
Day 10: Departure from the Serengeti
Your final day begins with a transfer to the Serengeti Airstrip for your flight to Kilimanjaro Airport, where your safari adventure concludes.
